  • Guest lecture on Emerging Technologies in IoT:

    IEEE SB organized a guest lecture on “Emerging Technologies in IoT” on 28th October, 2017 by Dr. Vijayanand, Vice President (Engineering), Aricent Global Design and Engineering Company. 40 students participated in the event in which IEEE student branch. Various insights were given on how IoT can be applied to various emerging systems like home automation, smart city, and intelligent traffic management.

  • One-day workshop on Python With Raspberry PI:

    IEEE SB organized a one-day workshop on “Python With Raspberry Pi” on 4 th November, 2017. The event was inaugurated by SB counselor Dr. M D Selvaraj. The internal resource persons included Mr. G. Muralidhar and Ms Shobana V M (Research Scholars). 38 students from various institutes benefitted from the workshop organized by N Laxmi; SB Chair, and Ms K Dheepika.

  • Technical Session on Report Writing using LaTeX: TEX60

    IEEE SB organized a 90-minute technical session on report writing and presentation using LaTeX on 9th November, 2017 by research scholar Mr. P. Renjith. 47 students of IITDM participated in the event including UG, PG students and PhD scholars. Dr. M.D Selvaraj, the student branch counselor spoke on the importance of quality writing in preparing journals and conference papers. The talk highlighted the elements of LaTeX, beamer for presentations.

  • One-day workshop on Hands-on training in design and development of printed antennas

    IEEE SB organized a one-day workshop on printed antennas. 39 UG students from various colleges and universities participated in this event. The workshop begun with an introductory talk on “Perspectives on printed antenna design”. In the forenoon session, a hands-on experience was given by Mr. Chandu DS and Mr. Rusan Kumar, the research scholars of the institute. The training session was followed by simulation and analysis of planar microstrip antennas.

  • Womens Day Celebrations

    The institute IEEE SB has organized Women’s Day celebrations on 8th March, 2018 by arranging a panel discussion on Women Entrepreneurship. A panel discussion was arranged with Dr. Kalaivani Ganesan (Joint Director, Innovation and Incubation , Entrepreneurship Development Cell and Innovation Institute, Chennai) and Ms. Vaishnavi Vignesh Raja (Director E-Quad Engineering Services). The panel discussion has been organized to motivate our students to face the challenges with a positive spirit.
